Lordy, Lordy! Wordy, Wordy!

In one of my recent posts I talked about improving vocabulary by reading widely. A good vocabulary helps us in articulating our thoughts and feelings better. However, I think that a word of caution is in order! A good vocabulary is needed but if the words are strewn around randomly, it will look as though you got a haircut by electrocution. Read on and you will understand what I mean!

In my wanderings on the World Wide Web, I came across a site which had the following sentences..

"If you hate confinement of your ideas & creativities, organization lacking of measurements and consideration of your knack, find irresistible of novelty, free flowing & an essence of party at work, you will make it over here. It is never a stuff of surprise of getting vibrant errands that you can end up with benchmarks under the tutelage of expertise from IIM’s, FMS & XLRI. ...................has a proclivity of hiring folks those who have the hallucination of handling a whole unit of their relation by bolstering the domino effect ironically. You can be Sheikhchilli at times and that nawab’s notions gets materializes fair enough to remunerate well within our expectations. So come up with go get attitude to stride towards the summits of triumphs are waiting for you."


Whew!!! What words!!! Talk of brain sprain :)

Out of plain human compassion, I have blocked the name of the company. It is enough to say that they are related to higher education.

Ah, that answers a few questions on the state of the nation doesn't it?

So folks, big words do not count, if they are not in the right place. If you can say the same thing using simpler and fewer words, do so!

And for heaven's sake.. if you have a website up for the whole world to see, have it edited and reviewed.
